It seems like I should know about Dutch Boy paint. Yet it is not a brand that I can specifically recall ever seeing on the shelf or buying. The last brand of paint that I bought was sold at Home Depot and it was fine, but that was several years ago and I don’t recall the brand.

Dutch Boy has been advertising a new type of interior paint called “Refresh” that reduces home odors because it uses Arm & Hammer odor-eliminating technology that beautifies the home and freshens the air. That sounds very appealing to me, since we have pets in the home, yet I tried to find somebody locally that carries the Dutch Boy paint and I can’t find it here.

I’m pretty sure that cable sells their advertising in regional segments. So if someone is selling a product that is not actually on sale in this geographic area, they should not be paying for the commercials to be on the air here. It’s a little frustrating to have the desire created to buy that product and then not be able to find anyone locally that sells it.

Nopalea (No-pah lay’uh)

Since my mother has just recently been diagnosed with lung cancer and just got out of the hospital last week for the doctor to remove the top part of her right lung, we are looking for ways and products to hopefully help her to improve her physical and mental health issues.

Mother’s best friend, who lives in Florida and is having health issues of her own is suggesting that we get some Nopalea for her to try. Apparently Nopalea is good for numerous things, one of them is for assisting with Respiratory issues, which of course is what my mother is dealing with right now.

From what I have found out by researching this wellness drink, which comes from the Nopal cactus, it has been used for a good long time and it is now being offered to the general population for a boat load of health benefits. So I am going to go ahead and order a free 32 ounce bottle that is being offer which I only have to pay for the shipping, by calling their toll free number of 800-203-7063. I’ll keep you posted and see what we think of it after it arrives and we give it a try.

Jabbawockeez – Freak-A-Zoid

There is a commercial for a brand of Vodka that keeps coming on TV lately that has this song – Freak-A-Zoid by Jabbawockeez, playing the background. I remember when this song first came out and how all of us white guys thought we could do the Robot Dance to it, the key word here is we “thought” we could do it. LOL

Anyway I just had to hear the whole song once again after all these years. YouTube.com to the rescue once again.

Medical Research

My best friend’s son is a sophomore in high school. He wants to go into medical research when he graduates. Now my friend supports anything this boy is interested in and bought him a laboratory balance so that he could do some research type stuff there at home. I know this kid and I think I would be afraid he just might concoct something like the world’s most foul smelling stink bomb or something as a prank to put on YouTube!!!

Whirly Birds

This morning as I drove to work there were helicopters in the air, circling the very intersection where I needed to exit from the interstate. The one black helicopter was from News Channel 5 – I see that one in the air often as they do their rush hour traffic reports. But the second helicopter was all white and I don’t recall seeing that one before.

We have a few helicopters used by the state police, but they are black with brown and green like the police cars. I was wondering if the white one was the Life Flight helicopter that the hospital keeps for medical emergencies? That made me think there must be some awful wreck either on the interstate ahead of me or on the exit ramp. So I started making plans to take an alternate route to avoid whatever drama was unfolding on the road ahead.

I have found a good website that offers wholesale beads on Facebook that I am going to turn my niece onto and most likely order some for her myself to use with her new found hobby of bead work. She is a very creative soul and if there is anything that I can do to encourage her creativity I’m good with.

She is being home schooled right now due to some health issues that have been keeping her from being able to go to public school and her social life is being effected as well. So we want to try and keep her busy with arts and crafts while she is trying to get her health back on track.

I have been looking around lately for a dog, it has been such a long time since I have had a canine companion that I feel now is the time to go ahead and commit to some type of relationship, and I feel that I can do justice to one with a dog. It has to be a “real man’s” dog of course, no Poodles, Pomeranian, or those fluffy little foo foo type critters. But again, I’m not really set up for a large dog, like a German Shepherd or a Pit Bull or Doberman. I’m looking for something mid sized, listen to me, sounds like I’m shopping for a car!

One thing for sure I am going to be adopting my new friend and companion from one of the local Humane Societies that are around these parts. These places are always over crowded and in need of adopting out numerous breeds of all types of animals, but I am being a bit particular and just haven’t found the perfect one yet. It is hard to go to these places that are doing such a wonderful job with what they do for all of the unwanted animals in their neighborhoods, I always leave the place feeling very badly that I couldn’t rescue each and every caged animal in the place and give them a place to go and be treated with the respect and receive the love and care that all God’s creatures deserve in this world.

So, I’m taking my time, and only time can tell. Then I’ll share the details of what kind of tail-wagger I wind up with..

I’ve been trying to explain to my parents that they really need to make some changes to their current insurance policies, but sometimes they can really be stubborn and I can’t seem to get them to budge. Food prices are expected to come down, but we are not seeing any signs of that so far here in the city.
