Elks Party

Just got wind that I’ve been invited to the local chapter of The Elk’s annual picnic and Flag ceremony this coming up Saturday afternoon. I hope that the weather is decent, since it starts at 1:00pm and is being held outside. With the way that it is going it will either rain or be in the high 90′s or even into the 3 digits.

Holidays

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays. After the trick and treaters have come and gone, there are some fantastic parties going on all around town. I love seeing all of the ladies dressed up their wild costumes that they work so hard to put together and accentuate with some of the wildest themes in mind.

I haven’t had a party at my place yet on Halloween. There is just so many other ones going on that I can bounce back and forth and all around to that it is much more fun not having to deal with all the work and time involved in putting on a decent Halloween party. I can concentrate on all of the sexy Halloween costumes that I’m surrounded by. Last year I got phone numbers from a gal in a sexy pirate costume and one from a broad dressed up a sexy cop costume. Even went out a few times with the pirate wench, it was a blast.

She actually belongs to a local pirate club that I’ve heard so much about these past couple of years. She was supposed to take me to one of the events, but we’ve backed off in seeing each other, but who knows, it could happen. Stranger things have been known to happen.

Anyway, this heat has got me thinking about the Fall and then of course Winter will soon follow. Autumn will be nice, not excited about Winter and all that goes along with that. Soon enough it will be Thanksgiving, then Christmas and then yet another new year. 2011 is right around the corner. Looking forward to saying goodbye to the year of 2010 – which will be known as the extreme weather year. We jumped from a wicked, blizzard filled horrendous winter right into summer, never even say one day of spring. Don’t know what a 70 degree day feels like.

Stormy Weather

We were warned that we could expect a few thunder showers yesterday afternoon, but my god what a storm that turned out to be. I had taken a stroll down to the city flea market, it was an extremely hot and humid day, the vendors were all anxious to leave and get out of the heat. All of a sudden the winds kicked up, big time, the sounds of all of the merchandise being blown over and crashing was as loud as the thunder, with papers & posters flying through the air and numerous canvas tents that most of the vendors use for shade were flying about like balloons.

I made it to my car right as the rains came. I felt bad leaving so many of the vendors in such a state, but I asked a few of them if they needed by help, but they all seemed good to go. I’m sure thousands of dollars were lost yesterday in merchandise, props and equipment, not a profitable one for most of them in the end.

Myrtle Beach – This Summer’s Beach Buzz Word

I’m glad to hear and see that Myrtle Beach has made a major come back this year’s summer season. With the Gulf Coast in such a state, due to BP and all of their oil leaking issues, a lot of people are flocking to resorts for golf in Myrtle Beach. There is so much to offer in the Myrtle Beach South Carolina area. I’ve been there many times and have always lucked out on some decent golf packages in Myrtle Beach and am looking into going again, possibly after Labor Day. Besides the fact that the crowds will have dissipated by then, at least for the most part, but hopefully this heat wave will be long gone and over and done with. We are all looking forward to the Fall this year, not so much the Winter!

Anyway I’ve found an awesome website at http://www.ttimesonly.com/ that good information about great prices for the hotel and golf packages. If I had to choose which part of Myrtle Beach I’d prefer, I’d have to say the North side, but there really is so much all over that area that you can get the best of most things all over. A nice cool game of golf sounds like a plan to me.

Rain

Well we finally are getting ourselves a bit of rain. It has been so dry here that people have been starting to freak out. I just wish that I had rolled my car windows up last night! It wasn’t too awfully bad, they were not all the way down and we aren’t getting a hard rain. But even a light shower will help at this point and time.
