Just popping in
I’m watching the Olympics on my big screen TV when I get a call from the airport from an old girlfriend I haven’t heard from in almost a year now. She’d switched airlines for better pay and benefits quite a few months back and we haven’t seen each other since then. Anyway she calls and says she has the weekend clear due to her next flight isn’t until Monday at the earliest. Of course I invited her to stay over and save on hotel fees,(she actually gets a room for free anyway, one a group of the stewardesses keep for layovers and stuff), to which she replied she was hoping I’d ask. She also said something about wanting my help with something. knowing her, probably a new outfit or should she buy a new outfit>
Here kitty kitty
One of my lady friends just came by and asked if I’d do her a big favor by watching her three cats for a couple of days. Now, usually, I wouldn’t even consider having a cat in my house for any reason, but seeing as how she’s always been willing to aid me whenever I was in need of her assistance, I agreed to look after them until she returns from her company conference. Which will be in about three days or so. I can only hope that these hairy little critters are housebroken and don’t decide to use my potted plants as their own personal bathrooms. She left me with cat food and even a few “cat toys”, to help keep them entertained. So far the only “entertainment” they have been enjoying is walking underfoot and making me trip a lot, not to mention their constant frantic races around the living room. I’m not sure if my not having acquired a dog yet is a good thing or just untimely.
Saving Money
I’ve always been keen on saving money wherever and whenever I can, so I’m no stranger to coupons and promotional savings and certain coupon code sites often found online. Anytime I find hot deals on the Internet pertaining to what it is I’m in need of, I go for the savings right away. There are a few great sites on the Internet for saving money by using promotional or coupon codes when buying online. The trick is knowing which one serves your needs best. KeepCash.com is one of those sites best suited for saving you money. Not only do they offer coupons on great deals, shopping tools to aid you in buying, and coupon codes to save you heaps of cash, but they also list the hottest deals available at the time of inquiry.
On their “Black Friday” link they show all the Black Friday ads reported during the holiday season, thus making it even easier to locate what stores you have an interest in shopping at and what they have available long before the scramble for savings begins. Which is a big help in keeping you from having to deal with stampeding customers trying to beat each other to one deal or another. One of my all time favorites is Circuit City, where I manage to make a number of purchases all year round. I do so love the savings I can find through KeepCash.com and their multiple links to such companies that offer the best deals online.
I’ve found that the site is “user friendly” making it rather easy to navigate. With an extensive listing of the most popular stores and the posting of all the coupons and promotional savings they offer kept up to date, it’s easy to see why they rate so high in consumer confidence. To find what you are looking for all you have to do to locate the best deals is to either link by store name or by category. Doesn’t get much simpler than that. They also let you know when any coupon or coupon code expires, as you’re searching.
Still, my favorite section is the “Hot Deals” arena. There I can find nearly every great deal on the net at the time, and they most often offer free shipping for the items on this listing as well. That, which everyone knows, can add up to a good amount of financial savings being as delivery costs can add up rather quickly. Especially when you have multiple orders on significant items.
News from around the world
The daily news is getting to be a bit depressing these days, not that it hasn’t been rather depressing all along, it’s just that the talk and actions of war all over the world has been escalating of late. And it’s not just due to the desperation of terrorists, but from government against government as well. And even Mexico is suffering from mass scale kidnappings, so many in fact that it has turned into a business in that country with little, if any, aid from the Mexican Government itself. With Mexican Police being involved in some of those kidnappings, the people have no trust in their government and even less in their local law enforcement. Makes one wonder when the tide of evil will turn, or even IF it will turn!
Pottery Confusion
A close friend that I’ve dated in the past came by to take a look at the pottery piece that I had told her about. We’d thought at first it was Santa Domingo or even Santa Clara because of its black color. But after having done a little research and comparing with known pots we’ve come to the conclusion that it is most likely Zapotec from Oaxaca, Mexico. At least that’s our best collective idea on the matter to date. She advises that it may warrant further investigation due to the quality of the pot and the intricate designs carved into it.
After a glass or two of wine we concluded our professional consultation on the matter and turned to something a little more on the personal level. Yes indeed, it’s good to be me!
