Safe & Secure

For years my parents thought that their German Shepard was the best type of security system around. He made for good company and made them feel safe in their own home. But these days there is such a drastic increase in home break ins that they are now giving second thoughts about only relying on their guard dog. It has gotten so bad that we are seeing more and more of the signs in people’s yards indicating that they have had an installation of a well known security system. There are more of these types of signs than the For Sale and Foreclosure signs that have been growing by leaps and bounds in people’s front yards.

My parents have gotten very good on using the Internet. They are not the type of senior citizens that are known for shying away from today’s technology. They are embracing it and using to the best of the abilities and I’m so proud of them for being that way. They have even taught several of the senior friends how to use the Internet in many ways. So my mother was looking for tips on how to keep their home and property safe and they have decided to go ahead and have ADT come out and install a good quality security system for them. I’m glad to hear it and I hope that it makes them have more peace of mind so that they can spend their “golden years” having fun in the sun rather than worrying about some creep breaking in and possibly hurting them while trying to steel all of the things that they have worked so hard to get.

Cash and Carry

I’m just not seeing any improvement with our economic issues. I couldn’t name one person that is doing any better than they were one year ago, many are in worse shape. Families are being torn apart, houses are being lost, unemployment numbers are still climbing, when is this madness going to end for goodness sake? The good news is that there are credit counseling offers out there that are being used to help in many ways. Since credit cards seem to be a big issue for most people, a good debt consolidation can save you a good amount of money each month.

I have managed to get rid of most of my credit card debt, but still have a ways to go to be completely debt free. I have checked into debt consolidation and I’m glad that it is an option, but I think I can manage on my own for now. My plan is to pay off and cut up these pieces of plastic that has made so many people’s lives miserable. I will keep my Visa card no matter what, but the rest have just got to go. Cash and carry is the best policy, but these days you do need at least one credit card and Visa is the way to go with my wants and needs. With an interest rate of 12%, I can handle that for now.

So Many Choices

Amazing how we have such a large variety of vehicles to choose from these days. I can’t imagine going from car dealership to car dealership to find the information needed in order to make the best choice when in the market to purchase a new vehicle. That task could take weeks and possibly months, depending on where you live.

I have been thinking of purchasing a new vehicle in the near future, just haven’t made the final decision yet. I’m grateful for the Internet with sites such as thecarconnection.com that has a great amount of information on a great variety of vehicles that are now available to the public. I’ve heard good things about Hyundai, so I’ve checked out the hyundai veracruz and the hyundai elantra, both good pieces of transportation, but then I saw an article about the chevy equinox and gave that some serious consideration for some time. So many choices it can be mind boggling I’ll tell you that!

My Dad is pushing me towards a volvo s80, volvo has a great reputation and all but I just don’t see me behind the wheel of one at this point. Maybe one day, thanks anyway Dad.

Gaming In The 21st Century

I have to admit that some of the (video) games that are being played are way over the top for my needs and wants, although they are apparently getting more popular each day for many people. My nephew is into several of the virtual games that require you Buy WoW Accounts in order to play online. You can go to certain websites that Sell Aion Accounts and get everything that you need to play games like World of Warcraft and the like.

I remember when Pong first came out back in the 70’s, who would have thought that these games would get as technically advanced as they are now. If I had back all the quarters that I spent on those Pac Man machines I could probably pay a month’s mortgage with them! Those games were the main reason to go into several bars that I frequented back then and we had a blast with them time and time again.

A good site to check into that Sell Aion Accounts can be found at vbarrack.com, this is the site that my nephews uses and says that he has always been happy with their tech support and customer service when he has needed it. I like to share positive information here and not dwell on the negative. There is plenty of that to go around, right?

Good-bye to Verizon

My 2 year contract is finally up with Verizon. I have been waiting for this day for some time. I haven’t been happy with Verizon for some time and have been doing my research and came up with a good deal with Sprint that I’m going to sign up with come the first of July.

I don’t have a land line anymore and depend on my cell phone for all of my phone calls. I need a good plan, a good phone and Sprint seems the way to go for me and my phone needs.
