Back to the Fold

One of my partners just got back from a trip out to Arkansas. He’s trying to sell a place he’d just bought a few years back. I tease him a bit about it because he’d figured he was going to settle there, but things didn’t quite turn out the way he expected them to. Now the old boy is back amongst the crew of old, short a few members, but this type of living can make a man old real fast. Especially if you work at it and play, as well as work, in the “Fast Lane”! He’s a good fellow by all accounts. Deals in mostly old ephemera. Movie posters, old signs, dome top beer cans, advertising stuff mostly, but he also branches out like the rest of us just to make a living. No longer pays to specialize.

Phone scratched again!

I’ve been having a few damage problems with my iphone. I’ve tried keeping it in one of those cases that are supposed to protect it from damage, but I can’t even get to it to answer the thing when I get calls because of its bulkiness. It’s bad enough having to deal with the scratches on the plastic, but when my car keys hit the screen in my pocket I can’t even read the thing at all. I’ve had to replace my phone twice already due to screen problems.

Now I did find this amazing new product that guarantees protection, and not just for the screen but for the whole body of the phone too! So I ordered a new 3g iphone case and the “invisibleSHIELD” by Zagg. I was totally blown away by the products wide range of usability. They make the shield for all kinds of products, cell phones, gaming devices, laptop computers, digital cameras, GPS and PDA’s as well as your wristwatch even! I’m telling you this product is going to save me a whole lot of hassle and a whole lot of money when you consider replacement costs. And I’m a bit rough on these things being as I am constantly moving about and all, so this is a real boon to me. The advance of technology, you just got to love it!

Old and New Bookmarks

Niagara Rents has a good website dedicated to both the tenant and the landlord, in an effort to provide information on all types of rental properties not only in the beautiful Niagara area, but parts of Canada also. I came across this site some time back when I was looking around at some rentals for a friend of mine who was relocating to the Niagara area, and had it bookmarked and neatly filed away with tons of other sites worth saving.

While transferring information from my old laptop to my newly purchased one, I am coming across plenty of sites like this one that I had forgotten all about, bookmarked years ago and never went back to. It has been interesting looking at some of thing, wondering more than once, why I had ever bookmarked it in the first place.

Coupons for KOOL cigarettes

I have been a cigarette smoker for most of my life, and probably will always be a smoker. I do however consider myself to be a considerate smoker and keep my habit discrete when necessary. The price of cigarettes have been rising just as every thing else has and I found that on the side of the package of the KOOL Super Long’s is an 800 number to call or you can go on-line to Kool.com and request coupons to be sent to you in the mail to be used on your future purchases. Not too long ago I did call the toll free number and spoke with a customer rep and got myself put on the mailing list for these valuable coupons that range any way from buy one and get one free, to up to $5 off the purchase of a full carton. The coupons have been worth the phone call that took only a few minutes to take.

If I’m gonna smoke, I gotta try to kill myself as cheaply as I can.

Get The Phone Already!

My home phone has been ringing off the hook about some old tobacco bag I’d picked up quite some time back. I showed it a few times and it received absolutely no attention at all, so I believe I’d either put it away somewhere or one of my close friends has it. But it’s been awhile so it’s going to take some hunting around to find the darned thing.

As a matter of fact, I barely remember what it looked like. If the several possible interested parties had not described my own bag to me, I swear I wouldn’t have had the faintest idea of what they were talking about!

But it figures that once you’re lead to believe something isn’t as cool as what you’d originally thought it might be, and you toss it on the back burner, so to speak, everybody suddenly wants it! Usually I’ll have already sold or otherwise disposed of whatever it was that didn’t show any promise, but this is one of those times that I still thought it was cool, even if everybody else ignored it at the time. Now I have to find where I put it and reassess it’s value, then I can put the phone back on the hook.
