Candy Cigarettes Now A Thing of the Past

Something that we all grew up with on the shelves with all the other varieties of candies for sale were the candy cigarettes. If you notice you will no longer see these at most locations that offer gum and candy products. But on a rare occasion, at certain places you will see a display of these fake coffin nails, which was the case yesterday for my niece who was on a field trip out in the boonies, out in the country at a museum displaying numerous aging and large cumbersome parade floats, window displays and other larger than life items used in times past, in various locations for advertising and holiday celebrations.

I didn’t even know that this place even existed for heaven’s sake. She came home with a camera full of interesting and colorful pictures, that she emailed me, the last photo being of the counter that displayed many old time candies, including the fake cigarettes that used to be so popular back in the day.

Missed “appointments”!

I really have to get some kind of system together to keep my schedule straight so I won’t have any more mix ups with girlfriends and show dates and other such things. It’s a real shame when I promise someone I’m going to do something and at the last minute find that it interferes with some previous engagement or business venture I hadn’t kept tabs on. I used to write things down on a calendar kept in the kitchen. But I sometimes forget that too and wind up between a rock and a hard place trying to “fix” things.

Most Doctor’s Offices charge you when you don’t call 24 hours in advance to cancel an appointment. And I’ve recently discovered the charges aren’t exactly cheap either. But all in all I’d rather pay the charges at the Doc’s Office then have to sit through another balling out by my girlfriend for leaving her stranded at the airport for the second time this month!

I learned something today that I can’t believe I had no previous knowledge about, the subject of Google’s page ranking has caught my interest so I started asking questions and was told to go to the web-site of populararticles.com/tools where I found the following interesting information that I would like to share in today’s posting.

“Google PageRank is Google’s way of assessing the relative quality of a Web site or Web page on the Internet. PageRank is measured on a scale of 0 to 10. The stronger the PageRank of a given Web page, the higher the corresponding score on the scale. My Google PageRank allows Webmasters to view their site’s PageRank online. This is information that I’m glad I found out about and it answers a lot of questions that had been going unexplained and unanswered for some time now.
