Junky Basement

I have been spending a bit of time down in my basement. It is in desperate need of a reorganization and a good cleaning. I really haven’t much to do with the basement, it has always been used for storage and now that I see that most of the stuff can be given away and what doesn’t get thrown away will go towards a yard sale, some time in September when it isn’t so hot outside, which makes a big difference in my attitude during a long day of dealing with the general public.

It is amazing how much junk people can accumulate, and to think that so many folks are paying a monthly storage fee in order to hold on to all. I can’t imagine paying some one to provide me with a place to store my junk, those monthly bills add it to a good amount of money and most of the stuff that is being stored isn’t worth it, in most cases anyway.

Control Freak

Do you know someone like this? There are a few in my family and it drives me nuts. However, I was recently a guest at a large family gathering of people I don’t know very well, and this pattern was very obvious in the family dynamics there, too.

This person has to be in charge. He or she is always the one who brings up things that need to be done and sets about either doing themselves for ample pats on the back and credit, or they set about designating duties or assignments to others. Often this person will make a major decision or purchase and then approach the group with expectations of being repaid. They also expect the rest of the group to accept the decisions without question – just do as you’re told.

Often the others in the family go along with the control freak just to keep the peace. But to their credit, sometimes they do tackle unpleasant jobs that no one else wants to do.

Nagging Toothache

I have been having some trouble lately with a back tooth that has been giving me a good deal of grief as of late. I was hoping that it would just go away, sometimes a toothache has been known to go away without any type of treatment done to it. But this one doesn’t seem to want to ease up one bit.

It was hurting so bad this morning that I actually called the dentist that I haven’t seen in some time, and scheduled an appointment for tomorrow at 3:30pm. I was told that since I had not been there in some time that I should plan on arriving a bit early and to be prepared to fill out all new paperwork on myself.

I don’t know which one I’m dreading worse, the dentist or the paperwork.

Thinning Hair Issues

A buddy of mine has been complaining about his receding hairline of late, saying that they ought to invent a way for men like him that want to keep their own hair for a while longer then to go bald in their thirties or even earlier. Which, of course, led the way to my doing a little bit of research on the subject and how it could help him and give him back that “ever so young” feeling he loves so much.

Anyway I found a great site that actually spells out the facts instead of making hollow promises on miracle hair growth formulas. What I came away with was a product perfect for my buddy’s needs. And they even offer a 90 day money back guarantee! That was the last thing that further convinced me to order Procerin for him. I think I’ll let him take me out to dinner for my time and effort!

Save the Ham Bone

On a whim I stopped by the Honeybaked Ham store on the way home from work and bought a half a ham. It is huge – it weighs about 7 pounds. They say it is enough for 10 people, so it will last me a while. I love ham sandwiches and this ham is so delicious that you can eat it plain, on bread, or cooked up with the ham bone and beans to make ham soup.

The best ham I’ve ever had is a Honeybaked ham. Looks like this one will be just as good.
