A good buddy of mine took on the task of writing a book and he called me up the other evening and asked if he could come over, that he had something to give me. He showed up at my door with a six pack and an autographed copy of his newly published book entitled “Deer Hunting with Jesus” – Dispatches from America’s class war - ”A raging, hilarious, and profane love song to the great American redneck.” by my good friend himself – Joe Bageant.

We spent a pleasant evening drinking his beer, talking about his book and rehashing the good old days until 1:30 that morning. It was reall good seeing my old friend and am so tickled that he took the time to come over to hand deliver his book that I can’t wait to start reading.

They have had so many take offs of this brilliantly entertaining TV show that I so enjoy watching when I find it while channel surfing some evenings, AFHV just remains top dog as far as I’m concerned in this ever growing funny clips and video market.

I don’t always agree with their decisions on which ones are the funniest and the audience’s voting always seems to through me for a loop with their voting choices, but who gives a happy crap who wins or not, it’s all funny and it’s all good, as they say!

Funny how some mixed drinks and even sodas come into favor or fall out of favor over the years.

When I was a kid we drank Pepsi and 7-Up when we were allowed to have sodas. But for casual drinking we were supposed to drink from the pitcher of flavored Kool Aid that our mother would keep in the refrigerator.

When I was just getting out of school, the drink of the day was either a White Russian or a Cuba Libre. And the popularity of ordering trays of shots was just beginning. This was also the beginning of wine coolers.

Now people seem to be infatuated with Cosmopolitans and lots of designer vodkas. Personally, I still like my Pepsi.

Online Backup is one of the leading online backup and storage for consumers and their small businesses, for Windows and Mac both. And I have used them in the past and I’m glad to know that they are still around and still improving on their enhancements for backup on the good old Macintosh’s that are still out there running strong.

My first computer was a Mac and I always will have place in my heart for those brilliant machines that I was forced into leaving their use, quite a while back, due to the fact that everywhere that I worked and did any kind of business always used the IBM PC, so in order to keep in business I was forced into the PC world and have gotten used to it of course, but I still miss my Mac, she is tucked away in the basement, poor thing was banished from my home office and sent into the bowels of the household, doomed to a lonely existence along with all of the other outdated and un usefull items that have been discarded.

Whether you have a Mac or a PC, you should check out and see it my going to the website of ibackup.com, you could learn a thing or two and they possibly can help with all of your back up needs of today.

My 9 year old niece that I have spoken about in the past, has sent me a reply to my last email to her, and she is full of news about all of the things that she is doing and planning on doing this summer while school is out. She is scheduled to attend a cheer leading camp, in the middle of July and then to go to a sleep away camp in the first week of August.

She has a few friends that she has been going to the local pool with and her folks are planning a beach get-a-way long weekend this up and coming 4th of July holiday. So she seems to be keeping busy, it is a drag for some kids that have nothing to do all summer, that is when trouble can start brewing. Busy hands are happy hands, as my mother always says, and there is a lot of truth to that.

One thing that my niece is very good at is the computer, her folks had her up and running on her own PC at the age of two years old and she knows what she is doing when it comes to email, the Internet, several different programs, and she has tons of software full of games and educational ones also that she enjoys.

In her email she was telling me of one of her favorite web-sites that she and her girlfriends just discovered a few weeks ago which is all about GirlSense Fashion Dress Up Games at a site called GirlSense.com. She tells me that it allows her and her friends to go into different boutiques and purchase virtual fashion items of fashion designers and celebrities like MTV’s The Hills, Savy and Mandy, Mudd and numerous others, that I have to tell you I have no idea who most of these are, but she seems thrilled with them.

I have to say that web-sites like these are really a good thing for these girls, it teaches them so many things that will help them later on in life. And I like that there is more and more things coming out for little girls, most video games really are not geared towards them and there has been a push for more girl oriented games to be available to them and it looks like it is working to some degree.

I have been spending a bit of time down in my basement. It is in desperate need of a reorganization and a good cleaning. I really haven’t much to do with the basement, it has always been used for storage and now that I see that most of the stuff can be given away and what doesn’t get thrown away will go towards a yard sale, some time in September when it isn’t so hot outside, which makes a big difference in my attitude during a long day of dealing with the general public.

It is amazing how much junk people can accumulate, and to think that so many folks are paying a monthly storage fee in order to hold on to all. I can’t imagine paying some one to provide me with a place to store my junk, those monthly bills add it to a good amount of money and most of the stuff that is being stored isn’t worth it, in most cases anyway.

This person has to be in charge. He or she is always the one who brings up things that need to be done and sets about either doing themselves for ample pats on the back and credit, or they set about designating duties or assignments to others. Often this person will make a major decision or purchase and then approach the group with expectations of being repaid. They also expect the rest of the group to accept the decisions without question – just do as you’re told.

Often the others in the family go along with the control freak just to keep the peace. But to their credit, sometimes they do tackle unpleasant jobs that no one else wants to do.

I have been having some trouble lately with a back tooth that has been giving me a good deal of grief as of late. I was hoping that it would just go away, sometimes a toothache has been known to go away without any type of treatment done to it. But this one doesn’t seem to want to ease up one bit.

It was hurting so bad this morning that I actually called the dentist that I haven’t seen in some time, and scheduled an appointment for tomorrow at 3:30pm. I was told that since I had not been there in some time that I should plan on arriving a bit early and to be prepared to fill out all new paperwork on myself.

I don’t know which one I’m dreading worse, the dentist or the paperwork.

A buddy of mine has been complaining about his receding hairline of late, saying that they ought to invent a way for men like him that want to keep their own hair for a while longer then to go bald in their thirties or even earlier. Which, of course, led the way to my doing a little bit of research on the subject and how it could help him and give him back that “ever so young” feeling he loves so much.

Anyway I found a great site that actually spells out the facts instead of making hollow promises on miracle hair growth formulas. What I came away with was a product perfect for my buddy’s needs. And they even offer a 90 day money back guarantee! That was the last thing that further convinced me to order Procerin for him. I think I’ll let him take me out to dinner for my time and effort!
