Thanks for the guest post by Jonathan Curtis

We ended up getting good clear internet deals and they are going to be installing it into our new vacation home next week. We have always wanted a beach house and have just gotten to the point where we are going to be able to afford one. My husband and I both love the beach. I wish that we had been able to afford one sooner, but now is a great time because our kids are becoming teenagers and already don’t want to spend their extra time with Mom and Dad. Anything that we can do to get them to “hang” with us is worth it. We have already gotten them to agree to spend the summer at the condo. I am going to stay for the majority of the summer and my husband is going to come every weekend. The kids are going to be allowed to invite a friend or two. The good thing is that it is only about two hours from our house, so it is a very quick and easy drive there. I just can’t wait!

I am pretty good with tools and the like but I think that I would be much better off to find the perfect kitchen remodeling raleigh area company to come in and do the job and get it done right. It isn’t a huge project but big enough to make me shy away from taking it on all on my own at this point.

If I was just moving into my own place for the first time, I would buy a good sizes plastic toolbox from Walmart and put some basic items in it:

2 or 3 screwdrivers in different lengths that are flat head

2 or 3 screwdrivers that are phillips head

a roll of duct tape

a roll of black electrical tape

an adjustable wrench or wrench set

a hammer

a heavy duty extension cord

a flashlight with extra batteries

That would be a good start. You can add to it as things come up.

We really couldn’t have asked for better weather on Thanksgiving day this year, 69 degrees is generally unheard of for this type of year. It was so nice out that at the last minute we decided to move all the festivities, including the massive dinner, outside. My folks have a great set up for events such as this, with a great porch, lined with their numerous gorgeous Adirondack chairs and Picnic Tables that they can utilize and enjoy all most all year round.

The kids played all most the entire time on the playground equipment that they always keep in top notch condition for the dozens of grandchildren, grandnephews and grandnieces that are always so appreciative of them providing for their entertainment when visiting. While the parents, or who ever else is in charge of supervising this crowd of youngsters can sit on various Park Benches that they have had strategically installed throughout the entire yard for people’s comfort.

Each year we seem to be having more kids attend these family dinners, so all of my parent’s work in making their place very family/kid friendly pays off time and time again. They really enjoy the little ones and they want to make sure that they are kept busy and kept safe during their visits.

It amazes me that the majority of homes that I have the opportunity to visit do not have a backsplash installed behind the kitchen sink, especially the older homes that I see. I can’t imagine not having my backsplash tile in my kitchen, so much water get splashed from the faucet that everything would get soaking wet and the damage would be tremendous, not to mention the mold that could possibly grow from all of the moisture. That would be disastrous considering how allergic I am to mold. I found that out the hard way and I wouldn’t wish that on anyone.

My mother had a piece of see through plastic installed on the wall behind her kitchen sink and her stove in order to protect the paint and the wallpaper in her kitchen. It didn’t look all that great but it did the trick all right. Now a days there are a lot of choices for backsplash issues for home owners to pick from such as the ones found at Caayu.com. Check them out some time and see what they are all about.

My kid sister is having a heck of a time with controlling the moisture in her home. There are signs of mold growing in several of the rooms and this has us all very concerned. Mold is a huge health concern and since she has a new born baby in this very wet home I can’t bear the thought of this issue jepordizing any of their health, now or ever. So I have taken the bull by the horns and have been spending time on my computer looking into various way and options to help tackle this concern.

I think that a dehumidifier would be a good start, so I Googled “dehumidifiers for sale austin” and was surprised to find that the first thing that popped up was for a business at http://www.thesteamteam.com/ where they have all kinds of good information that I intend to pass along to her as well as a list of good dehumidifiers for sale that will do the job until we come up with other options to check out. I have all ready ordered and paid for one of the dehumidifiers that they are advertising and it should be on it’s way to her “wet house” in the next day or two, it can’t get there quick enough as far as I’m concerned.

Guest post from: Steve Delaney

My family is huge into real estate so that’s naturally what I got into when I graduated college. Of course, I graduated 4 years ago so it wasn’t exactly the best time to get into the business! It’s finally starting to pick up though and I’ve made some really good contacts over the years and at least I’ve learned how to pay my bills when things get slow. I feel like I have a really good grasp of the neighborhood now and I’m prepared to talk to my clients more about things like the school system and home security family alarms which are things they’re constantly asking my dad about. I wish the timing had been better but I know I’m going to have a long and successful career in real estate if not only because my family’s built a name in the industry here in town. I’m so thankful I’m getting started with that under my belt at least and I’m not starting from scratch like some of my fellow classmates were!

I’m sure that a lot of folks will be looking for payday advance loans to help pay for damages that are not covered by their insurance policies, if they even have insurance. And then of course there is the high deductibles that most of us have chosen in an effort to cut our premiums down. It’s a no win situation all the way around when it comes to insurance.

I ran into the first person ever that is looking to buy tv box that will convert their old analog TV to the new and improved, all mighty, and all necessary wave of the digital signals. It has been a couple of years since this much anticipated “roll over” to digital took place and there was such a big hoopla about not having enough of the converter boxes to go around. The “coupons” that were being given away were hot tickets there for a while.

Now that most folks have settled in with their converters, there are plenty of these TV boxes to go around and you can find them here and there for anyone that still needs one or just picked up a TV that requires one for what ever reasons.

I know plenty of folks that are giving Direct TV as presents to loved ones that can’t afford the luxury of paying for good TV reception and all the channels and all the other goodies that go along with having a pay TV subscription. Such is the case with my Great Aunt Virginia and Great Uncle Dave, who retired oh so very long ago and are feeling the crunch of today’s screwed up economy while trying to live on a fixed income. Each year, for their wedding anniversery we all pool our resources together and renew their Satellite TV subscription for yet another year, which works out right nice for all involved.

Before pay TV came around we would all pitch in and pay either their phone bill, electric bill or insurance for a full year, this check was always appreciated all year long and they are always so very happy with the channels that they can receive with Direct TV. My uncle gets plenty of sports channels and my aunt can watch all the numerous channels that they have with the female population in mind. She has several cooking shows that she looks forward to watching during the day and tons of other good shows that she would never be able to enjoy if they didn’t have the Direct TV package that we gladly purchase for them each year. It’s the gift that just keeps on giving.
