What’s Up With That Wendy’s

I really like going to Wendy’s for their great burgers! And I like their baked potatoes. Their french fries are not as good as McDonald’s, but they are tolerable if they are hot and sprinkled with salt. I do wish they offered a salt substitute!

All that being said, I am not a fan of their restrooms! I have never been inside a Wendy’s restroom where there was a clean dry place to put a coat. In the winter time, I wear a coat that goes below my hips, and when I use the bathroom I like to take it off and put it on a hook. Wendy’s has neither, and I really don’t want to dump my coat on the floor or in the sink. The sinks are stand alone sinks with no counter space to put anything, so if I do put my coat in the sink it usually gets wet.

So, Wendy’s, hear my plea! Put hooks and shelves in the bathroom!

A buddy of mine has been complaining about his receding hairline of late, saying that they ought to invent a way for men like him that want to keep their own hair for a while longer then to go bald in their thirties or even earlier. I’m so glad that my niece is done with her schooling and is actively looking at the Message Therapist Jobs that are available in her part of town. She has been handed a lot to deal with for someone her age and she has worked extra hard in order to pull it all together after the unexpected death of her husband. She was left to raise their twin sons on her own, twins are hard enough to handle with both parents available to pitch in so doing it all by yourself must be maddening. It isn’t something that I could handle, I can tell you that!

Smoking Has Become a Real Drag

I have been smoking one type of cigarette, pipe or cigar for more decades than I care to think of. There have been a few times that I was sucessful in putting the nasty smoking habit down, but I have always managed to come right back to it for one reason or another, usually stress related of course. I have managed to cut way back from the 2 pack a day habit of years gone by. Right now I am only smoking about one half a pack a day, but even that is starting to bother me way too much. I have stopped smoking in my home, I now go outside to light up and that has made a big difference in my cutting back. It is such a hassle to drop everything and run outside, many times during bad weather that makes it a real drag (excuse the pun) and I curse myself many times for putting myself through all of that nonsense.

The other day I was in the grocery store and I saw a fellow with what looked like a lit cigarette dangling from his mouth which of course is a real no no these days. It took me a minute to realize that I didn’t smell any smoke and that what he was doing was using one of the popular Electronic Cigarette products that so many folks are turning to. I am seriously considering trying to stop smoking again and am going to look into these new fangled Electronic Cigarette products to see if I think they might work for me in the near future.

Power To The People, Especially Me!

Losing power is the only thing that I am worried about over the weekend, without power the only thing to do is to sleep and I can only do so much of that. Well I guess I could use one of the many flashlights that I have on hand around and read, but these old eyes can only take so much of that these days. What I’d like to do is to spend the weekend watching TV and surfing the Internet.

I’ve been meaning to look for a good Cosmetic Dentist, but to be honest I keep putting it off. I have never been a fan of any type of dentist, even a Cosmetic Dentist which I’m sure is why I keep putting it off. I also would like to start looking and comparing cell phone providers. My current contract is going to end in a couple of months and I am totally ready to switch to another one. I’m so tired of all the dropped calls and the weak signals that seem to happen at the worse opportunity, even though all of the commercial for my current provider are all about how wonderful and strong their signals are all over. I wonder if they have ever heard of false advertising.

So, as long as I have power I will weather the storm just fine, if not, well we will see what it brings when it happens.

Just What Are These Guys Thinking?

Something that just drives me crazy is seeing some one on a motorcycle that isn’t wearing the correct riding gear. The absolute worst offenders are the ones that are wearing tennis shoes instead of the Motorcycle Riding Boots that are designed to protect the foot and ankle. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen this and I just want to jerk them off of their bike and give them a good shaking. And don’t even get me started on the ones that I see wearing the full face helmet and their black leather gloves, while going down the road in a wife beater t-shirt and shorts. Those fools don’t even have a clue.

Diamonds For Mother’s 70th Birthday

My mother’s birthday is coming up in the last week of September and I still haven’t decided on what gift to give her on her 70th birthday. My sister has come up with a good gift idea that we could split between us and I think I just might go with that. She has found a very nice everlon ring a diamond knot rope ring that is currently on sale from $250 down to $149, which is a very decent price for such a nice looking diamond ring. I just don’t know if mom needs or wants any more jewelry, it seems to me that she has more than enough to last her until her last day on earth and let’s face it it is her 70th birthday, but thank the good Lord she and my dad are both experiencing good health for their ages. I’ll make my decision before the week is over and done with.

One of the big challenges for dealing with the summer heat is what to wear when you just have to run errands around town? Do you wear shorts and flip flops? No – that is too sloppy. Do you wear jeans and sneakers? No – those are way too hot. Women have the luxury of choosing to wear a skirt or a sundress, but us guys have limited choices and most of them are hot.
