My Foolproof Method to Grocery Shopping
This guest post from Errol Chang
I am a creature of habit and that applies to all aspects of my life, even when Shopping for Groceries. My friends never except my offers to come along because they say it takes me long to get out of the door of my home, let alone drive to the store. I admit it, I have a system and I stick with it.
Each week I carefully plan my family’s upcoming meals for the week. Once I have that list completed, I check my local paper and online for coupons to go along with my planned purchases. Although I always purchase the staples–milk, eggs, butter, and cheese–I sometimes tweak my shopping list to coincide with what’s on sale that week. My kids of course love snacks like chips, dip and the most popular cereals, but only those with coupons make it on the list. This practice saves my family a lot of money.
After the total perusal of any and all available coupons, I round-up my most-reluctant children; who, like my friends, don’t enjoy shopping with me. The next steps in my system is to make sure everything is turned off–stove and other appliances–and then, finally, right before leaving the house, I make sure I set my home security alarm system. More about ADT around Charlotte . That completed, it is now safe to proceed on my weekly shopping journey
Online Trading
My brother-in-law, Mike, is getting pretty good with this Online Trading that he started dabbling in last year right around election time. His brother-in-law is a well established Online Broker and has been teaching him some tricks of the Stock Trading business and getting him up to speed.
The economy is forcing a lot of us to look into options that we normally wouldn’t even consider. Mike doesn’t seem to be the type of guy that would be into IRA Accounts and Mobile Trading, much less doing any good at it, but life is full of surprises. I’m glad for him because he does have a large family that needs tending to and they (much like everyone else) are pinching pennies and just trying to keep the roof over their heads, food on the table and soon there will be the need for heat with winter right around the corner.
Girl Games, The Time Has Come
I remember when my niece was around 4 years old and started playing video games. It became apparent that there was a limited selection of girl games that would keep the female population happily paying good money to play games targeted just for them. We heard talk that these businesses were becoming aware of the situation and took action. They still have a ways to go but they have come a long way.
I stumbled across this site the other evening, a site chock full of girl games, easygirlgames.com thought it was pretty cool so I shot the link to her in hopes that she will find some entertainment out of some of the large variety of girl games that they have to offer. She spends a good amount of time online, like most of us do, she may all ready know of the site but what the heck, I try.
My Calculator Is My Best Friend
It is so strange to see how my nephew, Patrick, has grown and matured through out the years. Hard to believe that he will be graduating from high school next year and will be going to college on from there. He is a good kid and I think that he will go far in this world and that he will contribute to society in many positive ways.
He is way past the point that I can be of any help with much of his school work and projects as I was when he was younger. We live so close to each other that we spent a lot of time together and I seemed to come over a lot of the times when he was working on his school work. I’ve never been all that much help in the math area though. Numbers and I just don’t get along all that well, I gotten used to it and always have a calculator close at hand for when I need it.
Patrick is now well into Equivalent fractions and Prime Factorization, which are totally above my head. I’m still trying to figure out what a Probability calculator is all about. Thank goodness for online tutoring, it has saved his butt on more than one occasion. Wish that we had the Internet when I was struggling with school.
Teen Abuse Issues
My youngest brother has two step sons that are making his life challenging, to say the least. He had no idea what he was getting himself into when he married he latest wife, I feel for him. Right now they are busy looking for a teen rehab center to place the eldest of the two into. Right when school is getting ready to start all Hell has broken out and instead of going shopping for back to school supplies and clothes they are looking into teen rehab info.
The teen addiction statistics are staggering. Even with all the drug awareness programs that have been implemented into the school systems, like D.A.R.E. for example, there just isn’t enough out there to help prevent drug and alcohol abuse with our kids. So the need for good teen alcohol rehab and a good teen drug rehab centers is going to keep rising each year. The Internet will be a great resource for my brother and his wife during these times and wish them the best of luck.
