The funniest one was about a new Preacher who was talking in front of his youth group, their parents and his wife. The poor guy really got shaken up about his slip of the tongue, you just had to feel for the poor guy. So today I had to look it up on YouTube.com, I found it and had to post it here, check it out and pass it along if you feel the need.

I have been to several of these functions and really don’t look forward to attending another. If it wasn’t for a very good friend that I went to school with, who just pesters the hell out of me to go with him so that he doesn’t have to sit by himself all night long, I wouldn’t have attended any of them at all. Some things should just remain in the past and let go of………

My father is soon going to be celebrating his 70th birthday. He is always one of the hardest people to buy gifts for each year for Christmas, Father’s Day and his birthday. Three times a year I struggle trying to find something that he will enjoy, appreciate and use. He has had 70 years to gather just about everything that he needs or wants, so it makes it a challenge for all of us to get him gifts. But this year I have found something that I think will float his boat.

My parents have always been animal lovers. I grew up in a house that always had numerous animals living inside and out, it was interesting, entertaining and educational for us all. My father really enjoys all the birds that come into the yard and has several bird houses located in various locations throughout the yard. So I thought that cameras for birds would be a neat idea for him so that he could see up close and personal what his feathered friends are up to any time he wants.

I went online and found a great site that has a cool wireless bird camera that he could set up real easy like. This particular bird nest camera is affordable and there is no shipping or handling charges involved, so I’ve placed my order and can’t wait to see his face when he discovers that he will have a new bird house camera that he hopefully can really get into.

I find it pretty amazing that you can now use the Internet 24/7 for tutoring needs in just about every subject that is out there these days. My niece needs some help with her Algebra 1 class and has found a great website of tutorvista.com. She tells me that you can get monthly tutoring services for under $100 a month through them and that she is very happy with what they have been providing her with since she signed up with them.

Next year she will be dealing with Algebra 2 issues and will most likely be turning to them for Algebra 2 help as well. She has turned a lot of her friends and class mates. They provide you with a free demo for the first time users and that has been a good selling point for many to take advantage of.

I remember back in the day, when I used to be able to assist her with some of her class work, but I’m afraid that Algebra just isn’t something that I’m all that up to speed in these days, so I’m glad to see that she has found help online!

Little brother Willie (the computer whiz of the family) came over last night. We ordered Take Out Chinese, drank some beer, smoked a couple of cigars and had a nice relaxed evening. Willie and I have always gotten along well, and he has stayed in the area, close to the folks, much like myself. The other siblings have managed to move out of state and we don’t get to see them often enough, as Willie and I do.

He spent a good amount of time educating me on some of the computer tricks and tips that he has been picking up and bragging about all of his new computer, equipment and accessories that he just got for Christmas a few months back. He was asked by our parents to check into web hosting issues for their small business that my parents have been running for the past 10 years. He didn’t take long in finding a company (Superb Internet) that has been around since 1996 and has dedicated server hosting services that he thinks would be a good fit for them. They have colocation services, managed hosting solutions, Domains and everything that would benefit a small or medium sized business, such as my parents small packing and mail store.

The one subject in school that I really didn’t like and never ended up doing all that well with was Math. I’m just not a numbers kind of person and am lost without my calculator in my every day needs. I rather enjoyed History and Science and would love to go back to school at some point and learn more, now that I am old enough to appreciate what knowledge can does do for a person.

The last time I got a flier from the local community college in the mail I remember giving it a second glance before tossing it into the recycling bin with the rest of the junk mail that I get on a daily basis. It did have some interesting History related classes that I’ve been thinking about checking into. Guess I can find all I need on the Internet instead of waiting for their next mailing.

It probably wouldn’t hurt to take some type of Math classes as well after I get my feet wet in going back to school. Statistics problems have always been a challenge and I know that I can get Statistics help and even a Statistics tutor online a tutorvista.com. My niece used Tutor Vista all last year for several of her college courses and was real pleased with all that they offered her, word of mouth is still the way to go!

We all know that one of the best ways to get information on just about anything is by utilizing the Internet. Hard to believe that we managed to exist at all without it just a few short decades ago. I know back in the 80’s that I never dreamed of how I could and would rely on a computer on a daily basis, as the majority of us do these days, for help in so many ways.

I have a close and dear friend who is totally dependent on the Internet for looking into The Orchid Recovery Center for Women. She has been battling drug and alcohol addiction most of her life and just can’t seem to get the right type of help for her individual needs. She has been reading The Orchid Center Charity Blog that she found online and has been emailing me a few things about it here and there. She knows that I will do anything that I can to help support her in her effort to beat this monkey that she has been carrying on her back since before I even knew her back in college.

The Orchid Recovery Center specializes and focuses on women and their addiction issues, which is a whole different ball game from the male side of the coin. She is a single mother with 2 young kids to deal with and to consider along the way. I don’t know how she has managed to do what she has done so far. I’m glad that I can be there for her however I can manage to be.
