It’s jokes like this one that keep my satisfied with being a confirmed bachelor!

 

After retiring, I went to the Social Security office to apply for Social Security.

The woman behind the counter asked me for my driver’s License to verify my age.

I looked in my pockets and realized I had left my wallet at home.

I told the woman that I was very sorry, but I would have to go home and come back later.

The woman said, ‘Unbutton your shirt’.

So I opened my shirt revealing my curly silver hair.

She said, ‘That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me’ and she processed my Social Security application..

When I got home, I excitedly told my wife about my experience at the Social Security office…

She said, ‘You should have dropped your pants. You might have gotten disability, too.’

And then the fight started…

With the end of summer here it is always good to know when to plan on setting your clocks back. Since they changed the dates on us a few years back, it can be confusing so I thought that I would post this information here that I found online at the greenwichmeantime.com website.

Daylight Saving Time Schedule USA 2007 – 2015

As prescribed: The Energy Policy Act of 2005

Rule 

Start: Second Sunday in March

End: First Sunday in November

Time: 2 am local time

Beginning in 2007, Daylight Saving Time is extended one month and the schedule for the states of the United States that adopt daylight saving time will be:

2 a.m. on the Second Sunday in March
to
2 a.m. on the First Sunday of November.

Year DST Begins 2 a.m.
(Second Sunday in March)		 DST Ends 2 a.m.
(First Sunday in November)
2007 March 11 November 4
2008 March 9 November 2
2009 March 8 November 1
2010 March 14 November 7
2011 March 13 November 6
2012 March 11 November 4
2013 March 10 November 3
2014 March 9 November 2
2015 March 8 November 1

Can’t wait to hear the details on the story that just broke about an hour ago about some crazed idiot that armed himself and went into the Discovery Channel’s building in Silver Spring, Maryland and took some hostages for a few hours. All we have heard is that he was irked due to the Discovery Channels environmental programming and went off. I don’t understand what his train of thought was and we may never know because we are just now hearing that the police have shot him dead.

What with winter getting so close, and way too soon if you ask me, it is time to start looking around for some new clothes. I love the fact that I don’t even have to leave the house to find good deals on Clothing for Men. If you have access to the Internet you have access to some good deals that more and more companies are offering online shoppers like myself.

I’ll be checking out the latest in Mens Suits, and seeking out the best deals on Shirts and Ties as well. I think I’m good with the Mens Pants that I still fit into and have hanging in the closet, but if I see something that sparks my interest and the site offers things like free shipping, both ways and accepts PayPal I’ll be sporting some new trousers as well.

I don’t plan on doing any Christmas shopping at any stores this year. That chore will be done completely online, the only way to shop these days. Why deal with all the hassles that go along with Christmas shopping when you can do it online?
