Spring is coming
When you start to realize that spring is just around the corner, for some reason it seems to be the time you start looking around the house and realizing that the house needs to be spiffed up just a little. The outside is getting ready to burst with beauty and your home looks like old man winter has whooped its rear end. I guess it comes from having a mother that always had to change something in the house before spring made our house look ‘tired’ as she would put it. She usually went out and bought new artificial flowers but that’s not my thing.
I think my house needs some new window blinds. You know how old and dingy they get after a couple of years and they’re an inexpensive way to really add a new ‘touch’ to the same old room. No need to spend a fortune either if you know the right place to shop for them. I even like window shades for some of my rooms like the bathroom for some odd reason. I don’t know why I want shades in there but maybe it’s because they seem to me like you have more privacy with them but that’s my opinion about it anyway. No one wants anyone to be able to see into their bathroom, now do they?
There are all sorts of window coverings available now from blinds, shades and those pleated shades which I really like. The wide array of colors are just about guaranteed to add that special touch to an otherwise ordinary room. You can color coordinate your blinds or shades to match your couch, bed covering, curtains or what ever you are wanting to accentuate. Luckily as a man, I had a mother that had a good eye for decorating and I guess I got a touch of that from her. Or at least, I like to think that’s where it comes from.
Random thoughts for the day
1. I think part of a best friend’s job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.
2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you’re wrong.
3. I totally take back all those times I didn’t want to nap when I was younger.
4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.
5. How the heck are you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?
6. Was learning cursive really necessary?
7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on #5. I’m pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighborhood.
8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.
9. I can’t remember the last time I wasn’t at least kind of tired.
10. Bad decisions make good stories.
11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren’t going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.
12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don’t want to have to restart my collection…again.
13. I’m always still slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes – to my ten-page research paper that I swear I did not make any changes to.
14. “Do not machine wash or tumble dry” means I will never wash this thing I have– ever.
15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Damn it!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voicemail. What’d you do after I didn’t answer? Drop the phone and run away?
16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.
17. I keep some people’s phone numbers in my phone just so I know not to answer when they call.
18. My 4-year old son asked me in the car the other day “What would happen if you ran over a ninja?” How the heck do I respond to that?
19. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.
20. I disagree with Kay Jewelers. I would bet, on any given Friday or Saturday night, more kisses begin with Bud Light than with a Kay jewelry product.
In need of web hosting help?
Bless her sweet little heart but one of my nieces is just one more airhead!! Don’t get me wrong but I love her dearly and have tried and tried to explain technical stuff to her over and over but that’s what happens, it goes OVER her head. She was asking me about web site hosting. I made the mistake of asking her why and after about thirty minutes of blah blah this reason and blah blah that reason, I had to stop her. What’s the point of listening to stuff you can’t begin to understand when your the one that she came to in the first place. Know what I’m saying?
Anyway I told her that there was no way possible for me to help her out but I could point her in the right direction so that she could learn a lot more about what she wanted and then learn what she really needed. They aren’t the same thing all of the time, you know. If you’re looking for business hosting, then that’s what you should concentrate on and not shop around for other things. But if you are looking for good ecommerce hosting then just remember you get what you pay for. I would rather have great ecommerce hosting myself.
The best place I know to find what ever type of hosting you are looking for is on the Internet. I have my own personal favorite when I’m looking for a great web host and that’s with the geeks. Personally, I don’t mind being called a geek or going to a geek when I am in need of one. In fact, they come in awfully handy when you’re trying to explain something to this younger generation that think you don’t know what your talking about. Send them to a geek and their word is golden to them. Go figure!
Apple Does It Again!
Apple announced today that it has developed a breast implant that can store
and play music. The iTit will cost from $499 to $699, depending on cup and
speaker size. This is considered a major social breakthrough, because women
are always complaining about men staring at their breasts and not listening
to them.
Sports Fan
I come from a large family that always enjoyed a variety of sports, with football being on the top of the list for the majority of the family. Now that the Super Bowl is done and over with we are feeling the temporary loss of our weekend football games that we so totally got into for the past few months.
The Olympics have been a blessing and NBC is doing a great job in allowing us to see all the action, along with the pain and all the glory each evening with their exclusive coverage. But I still miss my football and find myself anxious for the next season to get going and seeing if the Redskins can manage to have a decent season. They are way over due and are making it a challenge to keep admitting to people that I’m an avid Redskin fan.
I’ve been spending my evenings online with the Olympics on the boob tube right along side me, for the most part. I’ve found an interesting sports website(a sports blog) that has a lot of great sports information, even information on online sports betting. I have never been much into gambling, I rarely even buy a lottery ticket, so it was an interesting and an informative easy going read. I like sites that are uncomplicated, and easy on the eyes and the mind.
