Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?

Once in a while when I can’t find anything else to watch, I find myself watch Jeff Foxworthy on his new game show entitled “Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader?’. It is amazing to see how much some of these people don’t know, makes me wonder about our future. Jeff Foxworthy is a hoot though!

Fantasy Sports

The excitement is in the air, you can just feel it at work with this year’s football season approaching us. The pre season games are fun, but we are all anxious for the regular games to start, which will be in just a few short weeks. There is nothing like a good game of football, cold beer and a large screen TV for those of us that don’t have tickets to attend the games live. The price of tickets for these games has become totally outrageous, most of us can’t throw that kind of money around on a regular basis. Once in a while someone will land some tickets and all Hell breaks loose, people trying their best to be invited along to the game!

In the mean time we are mainly content with our Fantasy Football leagues. This year we are going with the fantasy football draft software brought to us by Waiver Wire. They have every thing we need in one place and with access to over 100 local NFL team news feeds.

My team is the Washington Redskins, while most the others favor the NY Giants and the Pittsburg Steelers, so we have fun competing with each other. It’s all in good fun though.

In Search of The Castaways

One of my favorite movies as a kid was with Hayley Mills called In Search of The Castaways. I loved that movie so much and even had the record album. I would listen to that album over and over. My favorite song was song by Hayley and I’m glad that I found in on YouTube to share here. It was interesting to hear it after so many years.

A Hunting We Will Go

This is the part of the year that I always enjoy. Summer is on it’s way out, the days are getting shorter, the evenings are cooling off nicely and hunting season is fast approaching. I’ve always enjoyed hunting since I was a kid when my Dad would take us boys out with him and his friends and we would have a blast camping, fishing and hunting together. It has always been a tradition for us to get together each year and continue our hunting trips and this year shouldn’t be any different unless someone gets ill or something serious like that. Each year I worry that my Dad won’t be up to it, he isn’t getting any younger and his health isn’t the way that it used to be, but so far so good.

I’ve been looking around on the Internet to see if there are any new items that we could use this year. I could use some new magazines and clips for the trip and our tent seemed to be on it’s last leg last year so I do believe that a new would be in order. My Dad got a new rifle for Christmas last year that he is looking forward to using this season, but I’m still going to depend on my old trusty weapon that I’ve used for years. Why mess with perfection?

Agmdealtime.com has a great selection of tactical gear that I’ve been gazing at today. I’ve sent the link to my Dad and my brother both in case they feel the urge to buy something new for this year’s trip. It’s a one stop shop for hunting supplies, law enforcement and military equipment that I always find fascinating to view and drool over from time to time.

I can only hope for good health and good weather for us all this season, if all goes well it should be a good time for us all. And hopefully we will bring back some nice dear meat to enjoy all winter long.

Pre Season Football

I’m glad that the Washington Redskins, managed to kick some butt over the Pittsburg Steelers last week. They started their pre season by losing their first game, which isn’t the best way to start out. Even though I live in NYC I still enjoy watching the Redskins and I hope that they have a successful up and coming season.

Hail to the Redskins!
