Nice weather expected just in time for holiday

Wednesday, November 26th, 2008 | Travel/Auto, entertainment, family, life, politics, weather | No Comments

We have been experiencing just a bit of snow each and every day this week, it has never even come close to accumulating to anything, but enough to let you know that old man winter is lurking close by and eager to rear it’s ugly head at any time.

I’m glad to hear that the weather is supposed to improve just in time for the holiday traffic to commence and it should last through out the week-end, that would be a nice thing, some thing to help ease people’s stress levels these uneasy and hectic times that we live in.

Drama a possibility at Thanksgiving dinner

Tomorrow should be interesting to say the least, some relative haven’t been around for some time and a large crowd is to be expected, which means that mom is going to be stressed out as the cook and the hostess, I’m afraid.

One cousin is expected to make an appearance for dessert only, it seems that he is already scheduled to attend a lady from that he met online with a singles dating service, a few months back and has fallen head over heels in love with her and are planning a huge wedding as we speak.

Good thing that I have several sisters and sister-in-laws that will be lending mom a hand with all of the preparation and clean up, us men folk usually end up in the living room with our cigars, coffee, pumpkin pie and football and stay out of the way!

Thanksgiving scheduling errors

It appears that the original invitation went out for my families annual Thanksgiving dinner & family get together with the information stating to arrive at 4:00pm and expect to eat at 6:00pm, so everyone made arrangements and scheduled accordingly.

Now an announcement has been received, via email, that the time has been changed to arrive by 200pm and eat at 4:00 promptly. Oh my, this is not sounding like a good way to start the Thanksgiving season. Emails are flying back and forth and most of the family is in an uproar, I on the other hand am fine with decision, I’m always ready to eat mom’s good old fashioned home cooking, and the holidays bring out the best of her cooking and baking skills that I have become accustomed to all my life long.

Detailing enthusiasm

To my brother-in-law, his tire dressings are a major concern and he spoke a good deal about how it takes a good amount of considerations and researching done before just purchasing a set. The ease of researching such items for this auto enthusiasts, due to the Internet has made him a very happy camper these days and he is utilizing this valuable tool to do a lot of custom work on his pride and joy, his 2003 Chevy Pick up truck. He is learning tips and tricks for a good amount of detailing by taking some time and go online He just recently put a whole new exhaust systems in place and it is looking and sounding pretty cool, I’ll admit.

A helping hand around the house

My brother-in-law came over today and brought his tool belt and tool box along, in his tricked out pick up truck that he has put a lot of time, money and attention towards, this past year. He spent a good 5 hours with me with things that U have let piled up and I have left unattended for too long, and having a helping hand certainly makes the task easier to swallow.

He even took a look at my truck’s driver side door that is showing signs of having issues with the closing of recently. It looks like the hinges and pins need replacing, not an easy fix, but do able, soon I hope. I don’t relish the thought of my door falling off at any given time, I can see me leaving the door open and a good wind coming along and taking it right off.

All in all we get a lot of things tended too and spent a good amount of time shooting the breeze and the sharing of all the latest family drama issues, which in turn needed discussing, the timing most excellent seeing that it is right before tomorrow’s family Thanksgiving dinner at my folks homestead. The same old soap opera’s with the some ol’ folks, at the same old place, just another year has gone by. I’m looking forward to mom’s holiday good home cooking, though.
