Tools You Can Use

Wednesday, October 29th, 2008 | home improvement | No Comments

Guys have to keep a certain amount of tools and guys tuff around for repairs and maintenance. Chicks who live alone should keep some basics around, too. If I was just moving into my own place for the first time, I would buy a good sizes plastic toolbox from Wal Mart and put some basic items in it:

  • 2 or 3 screwdrivers in different lengths that are flat head
  • 2 or 3 screwdrivers that are phillips head
  • a roll of duct tape
  • a roll of black electrical tape
  • an adjustable wrench or wrench set
  • a hammer
  • a heavy duty extension cord
  • a flashlight with extra batteries

That would be a good start. You can add to it as things come up.

Tattoo Designs

Not really a tattoo fan but I have seen some that are awesome works of art. I’ve even watched the show on cable called “Miami Ink” and thought the show is cool for giving a couple of excellent tattoo artists some exposure.

On a selection of Bic disposable lighters there are some eyecatching tattoo designs showcased as lighter art. The designs are all from a web site called Bullseye Tattoos. I made a note of the site address and went to check it out. Very cool designs – nice site.

Checking Out Austin

Sunday, October 26th, 2008 | Travel/Auto, home improvement, life | No Comments

One of the very few places I have never been is Austin, Texas. I have been to San Antonio, Houston, Dallas and Amarillo. For some reason, I haven’t been able to work out a trip to Austin yet and would love to go. In fact, from everything I’ve read about Austin, it sound like the perfect place for me to move and live out my retirement.

I’d like to make a quick trip out there and drive around the area with an Austin real estate broker to show me around. Maybe in March when the weather starts to warm up.

Going to a new city with the idea of moving there is not the same as going there to be a tourist. If you are going to move there, you need to get familiar with the real estate in Austin Texas and get to know the neighborhoods, the shopping centers, the traffic patterns and other quality of life considerations.

Dogs are Cool

I have been spending a lot of quality time with my dog this weekend and I have to say that I am so impressed with dogs. I wasn’t fortunate as a child to have any pets and I always regretted that. But my parents were not animal lovers and believed that dogs and cats belonged outside – never in the house. So I did not have a dog as a child.

But as an adult I do have a dog and my mother would be horrified to learn that my dog not only stays in my house all day but he sleeps in the same bed as I do at night. He is very good about getting under the covers and poking his way down to the end of the bed, where he sleeps on the bottom corner, right next to my feet. You can’t ask for a better footwarmer.

Dogs are amazing animals. They are so self reliant and low maintenance. All you have to do is put out fresh water and food every day and let them outside to take care of their “business” twice a day. A bath once a month and a rabies shot once a year. Just that little effort is so richly rewarded with loyalty, playfulness, and warm feet for many years.

B2B Marketing

Marketing to a business is not the same as marketing to customers, clients or patients. Business to business requires different approaches to the sales process and better leads, including prospects that have been pre-qualified so that your sales people can sell and close the deals.

Lead Dogs is a company that specializes in Lead Generation and helping their customers fill their sales pipeline with prospects that are sales-ready.
