The Big Country – The Movie

Thursday, August 28th, 2008 | business, entertainment, life, technology | No Comments

I just watched an old western with Gregory Peck as the star, by the name of The Big Country. It was a very long movie, almost 3 hours, unusual for movies back in the 60’s. I have always enjoyed watching westerns and find it hard to find one that I have not see before, so I was excited when I stumbled onto this one, not knowing exactly what to expect.

I must say that it wasn’t the best I’ve ever watched, certainly not the worst, but I was disappointed.

Networking and Promoting at Local Trade Shows

I have had first hand experience with several different types of trade show displays through out the past, as Luvie and I do attend many various types of Trade Shows through out the year. These Trade Shows have become a very popular way for businesses to promote them selves and a great networking opportunity for all who attend, vendors and visitors alike. We have never attended one yet that we haven’t enjoyed ourselves and look forward to going to plenty more in the future. We never know who we will run into or met, and always learn something along the way. Some of the freebies that are so freely distributed are quite interesting and entertaining, and the variety of these give away promotional items are changing all the time, you never know what you will come home with, that is for sure.

The Godfrey Group offers a brilliant selection of different types of Trade Show Displays that can be seen at their web-site of Godfreygroup.com, it amazes me – the different varieties that they have out now on the market for all kinds of needs and specialties. A definite site worth while to check out if you find your self in need or just plain interested, I enjoyed looking around a time or two.

Steak & Cheese

Thursday, August 28th, 2008 | Food, business, entertainment, life | No Comments

I’ve never been a fan of eating at our local mall’s Food Court, but tonight I was so very hungry after doing a bit of shopping in the men’s store that I enjoy buying some of my clothing at, that I broke down and ordered a steak and cheese, and I have to tell you that it was probably the best tasting steak and cheese that I have had in quite a while. Will wonders ever cease?

North Carolina is known for their high quality discount furniture

North Carolina has always been known for producing fine furniture and now the with Internet, it is so much easier to see what types of deals can be had right on line, avoiding what could be a very long and expensieve road trip, what with the price of gas, as we had to do in the past.

At Discountqualityfurniture.com they have an amazing selection of furniture, which is worth your time to take a look at. Ashley Furniture, I have found, has a nice variety of some very nice quality beds that I have been looking at. I have been sleeping in the same bed now for over some 20 years or so, and have made my mind up to purchase another, hence Ashley’s has come into play. Their Torrington Estate Queen Metal bed has caught my eye, with a nice wood and metal mixture that creates a nice traditional look that is pleasing to my eye. There are other pieces that they offer that go with this bed that I will most likely purchase at a later time, right now the bed is my main concern.

The Rains have finally arrived

Thursday, August 28th, 2008 | business, life, weather | No Comments

We had so much rain at the beginning of the summer season, we didn’t think we would ever see a sunny day, and then it stopped. We have been needing this rainfall desperately, and today it has finally arrived. Too bad it happened on a day that I had a few things to do that were to be done outside, but it looks like it will just have to wait for another day.

In the meantime, let the rains do what they do best, keeping the the garneners happy and the farmers and in business.
