Seems there was some kind of reunion nearby “At the Farm” for a group of old friends that used to live at this really cool ”Hippie Commune”, back in the late sixties and early seventies, a place that I spent some of my time, in my teen and early 20′s with, every now and then, back in those wildly crazy and care free days and nights. On the way home from this event, a group of several of them (7) decided to to take a chance and slide by my place and surprise me with a visit. They totally caught me off guard and a surprise it was, they took a chance and they were equally surprised to find me still living here, basically in the same area, even after all these years.
What an interesting group of folks they have turned out to be, some I would recognize right off, others I wouldn’t notice if they were standing right in front of me, I swear I wouldn’t know them from Adam or Eve. We spent a good part of the evening catching up with every one’s lives and of course telling me stories of the reunion and what a blast everyone had, sounds like it was a scene right out of days gone by “At the Farm” as we called in those days.
Almost everyone had a camera, so plenty of pictures were taken and promises were made all the way around to send copies out and emails and phone numbers were exchanged throughout all of us. I was glad to hear that all of them are hooked up to the Internet and use email and all, providing us with a much better chance to keep in touch with.
I’m glad that I had some beer and a few nice bottles of wine all ready cold in the fridge and plenty of chips and dip, and the few bottles of spring water that I always keep nice and cold, was gladly accepted by the few who now choose to remain alcohol free these days.
A good time was had by all, I’m really tickled that they thought about me after all of these years that have come and gone.
