Free Thanksgiving Turkey Dinners

The charity that I volunteered at yesterday advertised their free Thanksgiving Turkey Dinners to be handed out between the hours of 8am – noon. We volunteers were asked to arrive at 6:30am to prepare for this huge annual event that this Catholic Charity Group participates in each year.

As soon as we had arrived we noticed folks all ready forming a long line in anticipation of this timely free food give away, and by 10:30 the cabinets were bare and we had to refer a good amount of upset people to come the next day in order to provide for everyone. What a huge turn out, much more than what they had expected and were not prepared for. And man was it cold out during the whole process, but we kept busy enough for the most part, which helps somewhat. But all were assured that there will be plenty of food re stocked over night for tomorrow’s left overs.

Thumbs up to this wonderful organization for providing such a great service to the area’s poor and hungry citizens!
