I find that I enjoy reading about a variety of subjects and right now I have started a novel by Steven Pressfield entittelld The Afghan Campaign. I have not read his other two novels, Gates of Fire & Virtues of War, but I am enjoying what I have read so far and I imagine that I will be looking to see if I can locate his others when I am done with this one.
This is a story based 2,300 years ago when an unbeaten army of the west invaded the homeland of a fierce eastern tribal foe and told by one of the soldiers of that war. I must say that Mr. Pressfield is an impressive storyteller and so far a fine military writer that writes about moments of valor and cowardice, lust, and humor as well.
I have never read it but after hearing you talk about about I may just go ahead and buy the book.
