Sports Memorabilia

Having a birthday so close after Christmas must be a real drag. I know of one couple that had their baby born on Christmas Day, in an effort to spread the celebrations out some they did not celebrate their daughter’s birthday on Christmas Day. The let Christmas be all that Christmas has to offer and then 6 months later, on June 25th, they have a birthday party for her so that she has the whole day for and about herself. I’ve always really like that concept and have to give them a pat on the back for their efforts and concern.

My father is celebrating his 65th birthday come February 22nd. He isn’t the easiest person to shop for and it was challenging enough trying to find something to give him for Christmas, and now I have to start all over again with this big birthday event next week.

He is a big sports fan, so I was thinking of looking for some type of sports memorabilia that he would enjoy, such as one of their autographed baseball cards and have been looking around the Internet for some ideas. I’ve found a good site at www.authenticsportscollectibles.com and see that they have a large selection of items for the sports enthusiast and I’m sure that I can find something there that my Dad would enjoy.

I know that he is a Steelers fan and is totally excited about them being in the Super Bowl, maybe I should wait until we see who actually wins at this year’s 43rd Super Bowl that is coming up in just a few short weeks and then decide.
